The Long-term Care Act (the Wlz scheme) home

If you have received a letter from the CAK

The CAK has established that you are ‘not insured’, meaning that you do not have Dutch basic health insurance.

If you have received a letter from your Dutch health insurer

Your health insurer wants to check whether you are subject to compulsory insurance under the Wlz long-term care scheme. If you are Wlz insured, you are also insured under the Zvw healthcare scheme. This means that you are obliged to take out Dutch basic health insurance (basisverzekering).

Apply for an assessment of your Wlz insurance position

If you are subject to compulsory insurance under the Wlz scheme for long-term care, you are also insured under the Zvw scheme, which means you are obliged to take out Dutch basic health insurance (basisverzekering). If you want to know whether you are Wlz insured, you can apply to us for a statement of your insurance position under the Wlz scheme.
