Apart from AOW pension, you can also build up a supplementary pension − through your employer, or by saving for a pension yourself.
If you work for an employer, you may build up a supplementary pension through your employer. This is a company pension. Every month, your employer pays a pension contribution for you to a pension fund. You will probably also pay a contribution via your salary.
When you reach your pension age, the pension fund will pay you a company pension. You can ask your employer or your pension fund how much pension you can expect. You can also get an overview of your pensions at Mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl.
If you have worked for other employers in the past, you have probably built up pension with different pension funds.
For an overview of all your pensions, go to Mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl. Or you can contact the pension funds concerned directly.
Your pension fund takes account of the fact that you will receive an AOW pension. You will therefore not build up company pension rights on your whole salary. The part of your salary on which you do not pay contributions for a company pension is known as the AOW deductible. The amount of the AOW deductible differs between pension schemes.
For more information, contact your employer or your pension fund.
