When can you get an Anw survivor benefit or orphan’s benefit?

If your partner or ex-partner has died, you can qualify for an Anw survivor benefit providing you meet the conditions under the Anw scheme. The benefit will stop if you no longer meet these conditions.

If an orphan meets the conditions under the Anw scheme, they can get an orphan’s benefit as long as they continue to meet the conditions.

Select the situation that applies to you

  1. My partner has passed away

You can get an Anw survivor benefit if you have not yet reached your AOW pension age and you meet all the necessary conditions.

  2. My ex-partner has passed away

You may qualify for an Anw survivor benefit providing you meet the necessary extra conditions.

  3. Both my parents have passed away

If both your parents (or step-parents, if applicable) have died, you may qualify for an orphan’s benefit.
