The Wlz insurance assessment - step by step after you have received a letter from the CAK

You have received a letter from the CAK and you have asked us to assess your insurance position under the Wlz scheme. Find out what happens with your application, step by step.

  1. Step 2: We send you confirmation of your application

We will send you confirmation when we receive your application.

If you apply via My SVB, a confirmation message will appear on your screen after you send your application.

If you apply by post and you have a Message Box, you will receive the confirmation in your Message Box.

  2. Step 3: We start processing your application

It can take up to 8 weeks for us to finish processing your application.

If we need more information before we can give our decision, it may take longer than 8 weeks.

  3. Step 4: We send a message to the CAK

If you asked for an assessment because you received a letter from the CAK, we will automatically send a message to the CAK. This means the CAK will know that we are assessing your insurance position under the Wlz scheme.

The CAK will wait for our decision. It is important that you apply for a Wlz assessment within 3 months of the date of your first letter from the CAK. If you do this, the CAK will not give you a fine before we send them our decision.

If we receive your application after that 3-month period, the CAK may give you a fine. If you have any questions about the fine, please contact the CAK.

  4. Step 5: We look at the evidence and assess whether or not you are insured under the Wlz scheme.

We will contact you if we need more information or documentary evidence from you.

  5. Step 6: We send you our decision

If you have a Message Box, we will send our decision to you digitally. If you do not have a Message Box, we will send our decision by post.

  6. Step 7: We send a message to the CAK

If you received a letter from the CAK, we will inform the CAK of our decision on your Wlz insurance position.
