How do the SVB and Digidentity handle your personal data?

The SVB and Digidentity protect your data because we believe that is important.

Data is deleted

Digidentity checks all data. It then saves your data temporarily in a secure environment.

Digidentity lets the SVB know whether the check was successful, and forwards only your personal details to the SVB.

After you have used the app, it no longer holds any personal data for you.

After 10 days, Digidentity no longer holds any personal data for you, either.

Digidentity does not share any photos or videos with the SVB.

What data can be handled in the app?

With the Digidentity app:

  • you can take photos of your identity document
  • you can take a photo of your face
  • you can make a short video recording of your face
  • the photos of your face are compared with the digitised image on the chip in your identity document

When doing so, Digidentity saves the following data temporarily:

  • your name, date of birth, place of birth, sex and nationality
  • the photo on your identity document and the data on the chip
  • the number and country on your identity document

The app sends your data to Digidentity for verification. Digidentity then checks whether your identity document has been registered as stolen or lost. To do so, it uses the number and country on your identity document.
