You are co-parents and you have 1 child together
You and the other parent must decide together which of you will submit the claim for child benefit. Let us know what you decide.
Dienst Toeslagen
We will inform Dienst Toeslagen which parent is the child benefit claimant. If the child benefit claimant meets the necessary conditions for child budget, Dienst Toeslagen will pay it to them.
If you need help deciding
If you cannot decide who should claim the child benefit, you can both go to the website of Dienst Toeslagen (only in Dutch) and fill in the online calculation form (proefberekening) to see who would get the most child budget. If your situation changes, you can report the change to us.
You are co-parents and you have 2 or more children together
You and the other parent must decide together which of you will submit the claim for child benefit. 1 parent can be the claimant for all the children, or each parent can claim child benefit for different children. If you both meet the conditions for child budget, you can both get child budget as well. Please let us know what you decide.
Dienst Toeslagen
We will inform Dienst Toeslagen which parent or parents will be claiming the child benefit. If they also meet the necessary conditions for child budget, Dienst Toeslagen will pay it to them.
