If someone has died

If someone who was receiving payments from us dies, we will stop the payments.

If the person who died lived in the Netherlands, you must inform the municipal authorities of the death. They will then inform us. In all other cases, you must report the death directly to us.

The payments/benefit

If the deceased was single, the payments will stop with effect from the first day of the month after the month in which he or she died.

If the deceased leaves a partner, the payments will stop with effect from the first day of the third month after the death.

If you are the surviving partner of the deceased, you can apply for a survivor benefit. If you are already known to us as his or her partner, we will contact you. If payable, a survivor benefit will take effect on the first day of the third month after the month in which the deceased passes away.

Reimbursement/allowances for costs

Reimbursement or allowances for costs will stop with effect from the first day of the month after the month in which the deceased passes away. Certain allowances will temporarily continue to be paid to the surviving partner. You can find more information about this in the leaflet entitled "Allowances under the Benefit Act for Wuv and Wubo".

If the partner of a member of the resistance dies

If the partner of a member of the resistance dies, the benefit will be reassessed. The amount of reimbursments or allowances awarded will not change.
