Reporting a change if you live outside the Netherlands

If you live outside the Netherlands, you must report changes in your situation within 6 weeks. You will then always receive the correct amount.

What changes do you have to report?

You must always report the following changes within 6 weeks:

  • A change of address
    • You are moving to a different address
    • You are moving to a different address together with your partner
    • You are moving to another country
    • You and your partner are moving to another country
    • You or your partner is moving to another country, and one of you continues to live in the country where you were living
  • A change in your domestic situation
    • You no longer live at the same address as your partner
    • You and your partner have been living together without being married and you are now going to separate
    • You have been living on your own and are now going to start living with someone
    • You willl be living at a different address temporarily (no more than 6 months)
    • You and your partner separate
    • You and your partner have been separated and your partner starts living with you again
    • You are separated from your partner and you start living with someone else
    • You take in a lodger or a tenant
  • Your personal situation
    • Your partner dies
    • You are getting married
    • You enter into a registered partnership
    • You get divorced
    • You are no longer in a registered partnership
    • You separate from your partner
    • You enter into a cohabitation agreement
    • You or your partner gets a different nationality
  • Income
    • Your other income goes up or down.
    • You have a new source of income.
    • You no longer have other income.
  • Imprisonment or detention
    • You go to prison or enter a detention centre or a closed treatment facility
    • You are ordered to go to prison, a detention centre or a closed treatment facility, but you refuse to go
