Child benefit

Your child is living at home again

If your child has lived away from home and now lives at home with you again, let us know since what date your child has been living at home again. We will then assess how much child benefit you are entitled to receive.

Child benefit is assessed according to the situation on the first day of a quarter. In other words, the situation on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October. If your child started living at home again on 15 July, for instance, your child benefit will not change until 1 October.

If you have received child benefit at twice the basic rate for your child who was living away from home, this will stop. Now that your child has moved back in with you, you are entitled to child benefit at the basic rate.
