Child benefit

When does child budget stop?

Normally, child budget ends in the month of the child's 18th birthday. For example, if your child turns 18 in April, your last child budget payment will be for April. You will receive the payment from the Tax Administration at the end of March.

Your child budget may end sooner

If you no longer receive child benefit, you will normally not get child budget either. For example, if your child earns more than a certain amount with a job, or is entitled to student finance. In these cases, both the child benefit and the child budget will stop.

No child benefit? You may still get child budget

If you no longer receive child benefit for a child aged 16 or 17, you may still be able to receive child budget.
