How to apply for an A1/certificate of coverage

You are a performing artist and you are employed by a Dutch employer

Your employer can apply for an A1/certificate of coverage quickly and easily via TWinternet.

If you will be working in Australia, Egypt, Macedonia or New Zealand

If you will be working in one of the above countries, your employer must apply for an A1/certificate of coverage within 3 months of your departure from the Netherlands.

Self-employed performing artists

The quickest and safest way to apply for an A1/certificate of coverage is via My SVB using your DigiD code. You will also need the details of your company, such as:

  • the Chamber of Commerce number
  • your Chamber of Commerce branch number (vestigingsnummer)

If you need an A1/certificate of coverage urgently

If you cannot start working because you do not yet have an A1/certificate of coverage

In most countries, inspectorates will accept a copy of the application for an A1/certificate of coverage. If you are denied access to a work site or a client will not pay you because you do not yet have an A1/certificate of coverage, contact us by telephone. We will then see whether your application can be processed with priority.

Applying using a paper form

You can also apply for an A1/certificate of coverage by downloading the application form, which you will find at the bottom of the page, and sending it to us by post. Please bear in mind that the online application process is quicker.
