Additional tax after the first year of receiving AOW pension
If you have other income in addition to your AOW pension, for example a supplementary pension, you may have to pay additional tax after the end of the tax year. This is because the Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst) adds up your income from all sources in a year. Part of your income may then be subject to a higher tax rate. As a result, you may have to pay additional tax.
Paying every month
If you do not wish to pay the whole amount at once after the end of the year, you can ask the Tax and Customs Administration for a provisional assessment. You will then be charged a higher amount in tax every month.
