AIO supplement

You live with your child

If the child you live with is under 18

You are not considered to be living together if you are a single parent living with children or stepchildren under 18. You will receive an AIO supplement for a single parent if:

  • your income is less than € 1,227.02 net per month
  • you fully support your child, and
  • you get child benefit for him or her

If the child you live with is 18 or over

If you share a house with one or more children or stepchildren aged between 18 and 65, you cannot get an AIO supplement. However, if your joint income is less than € 1,342.07 net per month, you may qualify for income support from your municipal authorities.

Exception
You can still get an AIO supplement from the SVB if your child is studying and receives a student grant.

If you live with your child or parent aged 65 or over

If you live with your parent or child and you are both 65 or over, you will get an AIO supplement if your joint income is less than € 1,342.07 net per month.
