AIO supplement
Review and appeal
We make sure that your AIO supplement is paid, and that you get the amount you are entitled to. Naturally, we always inform you about the decisions we take on your entitlement. If you disagree with a decision, you should call us. We will then try to answer your questions or solve any problems as quickly as possible.
If we cannot agree, or if you are not satisfied with the solution we propose, you can write a letter objecting to our decision within 6 weeks. We refer to such a letter as a 'request for review'.
Request for review
Your request for review must contain at least the following details:- your name and address
- your SVB reference number
- the decision that you object to
- your reasons for not agreeing with the decision
- the decision you think the SVB should take
- the date of your request for review
If you wish, you can authorize someone else to write the letter for you.
Send your letter to the SVB office that took the decision. Write the word ‘Bezwaarschrift’ (request for review) in the top left-hand corner of the envelope. Enclose any documents that may be relevant.
You will hear from us as soon as possible.
Explaining your objections at a hearing
If we have any questions about your letter, or if you would like to explain your objections in person, we will invite you to our office for a discussion. Such a discussion is called a ‘hearing’. You can look in your file before the hearing. At the hearing, you can explain why you object to the decision. If you wish, someone else can speak on your behalf.Appeal
If you disagree with the decision on your request for review, you can lodge an appeal with the court.
