AIO supplement - Tax and health insurance

We deduct the following two amounts from your AIO supplement and pay them to the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst):

• Zvw health insurance contribution
• tax and national insurance contributions

Zvw health insurance contribution

The Zvw health insurance contribution is 7.1% of your AIO supplement.

Tax and national insurance contributions

We also deduct tax and national insurance contributions from your AIO supplement.

You are entitled to tax credit. As a result, you pay less in tax and national insurance contributions, or nothing at all. How much tax credit you get depends on your personal situation:

• You always get the general tax credit of € 934 a year. 
• If you are 65 or over, you also get an elderly person's tax credit of € 762.
• If you are 65 or over and you live alone or with a child or children of yours, you also get a single elderly person's tax credit of € 429.
