Can you submit a new claim?

If new details come to light or if your circumstances change, you can always submit a new claim. To check whether it will be worthwhile for you to do so, call our client service department on number +31 (0)71 535 6888.

Submitting a new claim if your war-time experiences have not been confirmed

If we have not been able to find evidence of relevant events, that does not mean that we do not believe what you say. It does mean, however, that we had to reject your claim. You will have received a decision about this. It could be worth your while to submit a new claim if, for example, you find a witness who can confirm your war-time experiences.

Submitting a new claim if your medical complaints do not stem from persecution

If your claim is rejected because your medical complaints do not stem from persecution but from other clear causes, you can submit another claim if you have health complaints that were not taken into consideration previously. Psychological complaints in particular are liable to appear in later life. Physical complaints that arise more than 60 years after the war tend to be a result of old age or 'wear and tear'.

Submitting a new claim if your medical complaints were not considered sufficiently serious

If your claim was rejected because the medical complaints resulting from persecution did not result in permanent limitations, you can submit a new claim if these complaints have worsened.

If your benefit or contribution towards expenses has not been payable

If your benefit or contribution towards expenses has not been payable, you can apply for a new calculation if your income drops. People with Dutch nationality who have experienced persecution as citizens can apply for a benefit under the Wubo scheme (Benefits Act for Civilian War Victims 1940-1945). You may qualify for a non-means-tested supplementary allowance under the Wubo scheme.
