Can you submit a new application?
If new details come to light or if your circumstances change, you can always submit a new application. To check whether it will be worthwhile for you to do so, you can call our client service department on +31 (0)71 535 6888.
Submitting a new application if your service record as a sailor during the war has not been confirmed
If we have not been able to find evidence of your service at sea during the war, that does not mean that we do not believe what you say. It does mean, however, that we had to reject your application. You will have received a decision about this. It could be worth your while to submit a new application if you have relevant new information which you can put forward.
Submitting a new application if your health complaints are not attributable to violent war experiences
If your application has been rejected because your health complaints do not stem from your wartime experiences or an injunction to continue sailing but from other clear causes, you can submit another application if you have health complaints that were not taken into consideration previously. Psychological complaints in particular are liable to appear in later life. Physical complaints that arise more than 60 years after the war tend to be a result of old age or 'wear and tear'.
If your health complaints were not considered to be sufficiently serious
If your application was rejected because the health complaints resulting from your wartime experiences or an injunction to continue sailing did not result in permanent limitations, you can submit a new application if these complaints have worsened.
If your pension or contribution towards expenses has not been payable
If your extraordinary pension has not been payable because your income was too high, you can ask for your entitlement to be reassessed if your income drops.
