Who is the Anw scheme for?

The National Survivor Benefits Act (Anw) provides for a benefit for people whose partner has died. A survivor is the widow, widower, or partner of the person who passed away.

Benefit for parent and child

As a surviving partner, you will get a survivor benefit. If you have a child under 18, you can also get a dependent child allowance, provided your child lives at home with you.

You can also get a dependent child allowance for a foster child, stepchild or adopted child.

Orphan's benefit

An orphan’s benefit is payable for children up to 16 who have lost both parents. In some cases, this benefit is paid until the orphan’s 18th or 21st birthday.
