Voluntary insurance - Applying to buy AOW pension rights retroactively

If you are considering buying AOW pension rights retroactively, you can ask us for an offer using the form ‘Aanvraag inkoop vrijwillige verzekering AOW’, (only available in Dutch). You can apply to buy pension rights retroactively up to 10 years after the date on which you first became covered under Dutch social insurance.

Sending in an application form and your income details

Complete and sign the form and send it to our Insurance Office at the address shown on the form.

After we have received your application, we will send you forms on which you can fill in your income details for the relevant years. You must also return these forms to our Insurance Office.

We will send you an offer

After we have received your income details, we will send you an offer. We will enclose information about retroactive voluntary AOW insurance and about the AOW scheme. On the basis of the offer, you can decide whether to take out retroactive voluntary insurance.
