TOG
What do we mean by disabled?
The SVB considers a child to be disabled if he or she has a long-term or permanent mental or physical illness or disorder. You have to be able to provide evidence of this with, for example, a report or a statement by the doctor who is treating the child.
The child must be considerably more dependent on care, assistance and supervision than a healthy child of the same age, to the extent that he or she qualifies for provisions under the National Act on Exceptional Medical Expenses (AWBZ).
The SVB does not determine how much care your child needs. This is done by ClientFirst, who provide us with advice.
