You should always report changes in your situation. A change in your situation may affect your entitlement to pension or benefit. The amount may need to be increased or reduced. We make sure that you always get the right amount. For this reason, you are obliged to report any changes to us within 4 weeks of the change occurring. If you live outside the Netherlands, you have 6 weeks in which to report a change.

You can report changes quickly and easily via our website. If you prefer, you can also report the change to your SVB office over the telephone or in a letter.
The SVB will check your details
We make sure that you always get the right amount. That is why we exchange information with your municipal authorities (gemeente), the Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) and other organizations. If it appears that you have not reported a change to us, we may impose a fine or an administrative sanction on you.
