What we stand for
We make sure that everyone in the Netherlands gets what they are entitled to. We try to do this as unobtrusively as possible, by making payments and providing information promptly, and by treating client details with the utmost care. At the same time, we want you to be able to contact us whenever you need to. As the SVB, we prefer a personal approach. We will not confront you with call centres and endless menus; rather you get to talk to staff who have direct access to your details. In addition, you can, of course, also manage your affairs online.
Fair social security
A fair social security system starts with clear information about schemes and legislation. We take this task very seriously. It is essential that people are aware of their entitlements. If a scheme changes and you are entitled to a larger or smaller amount of money as a result, you have a right to be informed about it quickly and clearly. It's as simple as that. We always try to find the best way of keeping you informed, and you can choose how you would like to receive information, so that we understand each other.
An important task for us is to prevent, identify and combat fraud. After all, misuse of financial schemes damages the whole benefit system. That is why we meticulously check that payments are made correctly. If not, we reclaim any money that has been paid unduly. We want our clients to keep to the rules, as you expect us to do.
