Child benefit
If your child has been taken into care
If your child has been taken into care, for example, in a foster family or an institution, you may still be able to get child benefit. To get child benefit in this case, you must pay € 408 or more towards the support of your child. For example, by paying a parental contribution to the National Bureau for the Collection of Maintenance Payments (LBIO).
Providing proof of your maintenance payments
To get child benefit, you must be able to provide evidence of your contribution towards the support of your child. You can do so with bank statements, for example. If you pay a bill from the LBIO on time, but after the quarter for which the contribution was meant, the amount will still count towards the support costs for that quarter.
