Child benefit - If you receive non-Dutch child benefit as well

You or your partner may get child benefit from another country or from an international organization. This applies in the following cases:

• if you or your partner works for an international organization, or
• if you or your partner works for the government of a country other than the Netherlands, or
• if you work in the Netherlands and your partner lives and works outside the Netherlands.

Supplementary Dutch child benefit

There are agreements in place between countries that determine which country has to pay child benefit. If you get child benefit from a country which pays a lower rate of child benefit than the Netherlands, the SVB will supplement it up to the rate applicable in the Netherlands.
