Healthcare allowance
The Dutch government wants to keep healthcare affordable for everyone. That is why a healthcare allowance is available. The purpose of the healthcare allowance is to help cover the health insurance contributions you pay.
When can you get a healthcare allowance?
You can get a healthcare allowance if you:
- pay the flat-rate contribution; and
- if you are single, your income does not exceed € 35,059 per year, or if you have a partner, your joint income does not exceed € 51,691 per year.
You can apply to the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) for the healthcare allowance. The amount you get will depend on your income.
