If you become unemployed in Belgium
You will get a Dutch unemployment benefit
If you live in the Netherlands and are employed in Belgium, and you become unemployed, you will get a Dutch unemployment benefit even if you have paid contributions for unemployment insurance in Belgium. You must apply to your local UWVWerkbedrijf for the Dutch unemployment benefit, and register with them as a jobseeker. You will need written proof that you are unemployed (form C4), which you can obtain from your former employer. You will also need form U1, which you can from the RVA employment office in your employer's area.
A Belgian unemployment benefit
Since 1 May 2010, it has no longer been possible to obtain an unemployment benefit from your last country of employment via the Miethe ruling. However, if you already receive such a benefit, you will continue to receive it as long as you meet the requirements.
