Your family's insurance
If your family members do not have income of their own and they live in Belgium, they will not be co-insured with you for AOW old age pension and Anw survivor benefit. They will, however, be covered by health insurance in the Netherlands.
If your family members have income of their own, they will be insured in the country from which they receive the income. If they receive income from Belgium, your family members will be covered for medical care and for old age pension and survivor benefit.
Medical care for family members without an income of their own
If your partner and/or children do not have income of their own, they can be covered under health insurance in the Netherlands. For this, you have to register them with your health insurance fund in Belgium using form E106, which you can obtain from your Dutch health insurer. You then submit the form to your health insurance fund. They will establish which family members qualify for co-insurance with you and they will inform the Dutch Health Care Insurance Board (CVZ) (CVZ).
Voluntary AOW or Anw insurance for your family members
If you want your family members to be covered under the schemes for AOW old age pension or Anw survivor benefit, they may be able to apply for voluntary insurance to the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB).
