Contributions in Belgium

If you are in paid employment in Belgium, you will be covered under compulsory Belgian social insurance. You and your employer will pay contributions in Belgium to the Belgian National Office for Social Security (RSZ). You pay contributions on your total income.

Contribution for Flemish Care Insurance

Every employee pays a contribution of € 25 per year to his or her zorgkas (care fund).

Contribution for industrial accidents insurance

Every employer in Belgium must take out industrial accidents insurance with a recognized insurer. The amount of the contribution is related to the risk associated with the work.

Special employers' contributions

Employers in Belgium have to pay a number of special contributions which are not mentioned in the table. As a result, the total employer's contribution could amount to as much as 40.56% depending on the number of employees.
