Dutch national assistance benefit
The Work and Social Assistance Act (Wet Werk en Bijstand, WWB) provides for a monthly benefit and a yearly holiday allowance for people who cannot meet the basic costs of everyday living.
Claiming a national assistance benefit
You can claim a national assistance benefit from your local UWV Werkbedrijf. If you qualify for a different benefit, such as an unemployment benefit or a student grant, you must claim that first.
The amount of the national assistance benefit
The amount of the national assistance benefit will depend on your domestic situation. If you are a single parent, you can get a supplement of up to € 267.28 on top of your monthly national assistance benefit.
