AOW pension
Verification of entitlements outside the Netherlands
If you receive an AOW pension and live outside the Netherlands, the SVB will contact you a few times a year to check whether there have been any changes in your situation.
- Life certificate: We will normally ask you once a year to have a life certificate form completed by a competent authority in the country where you live, such as a notary public, or an officer from your local municipal authorities. If you live in Australia, however, you may not have to submit a life certificate form every year as from 2010.
- Income: If your partner is under 65, we will ask you for information on your partner's income every year.
- Living with someone: We may visit you at home to check whether you are living alone or not.
