Privacy
The SVB takes all possible steps to protect its clients' details. Not only is this is very important to us, we are obliged to do so under the Personal Data Protection Act (WBP). If you have sent personal details to us, or if we have obtained personal details on you from another organization, e.g. your municipality, you have the right to know what we do with your details. We will not give your details to any third party, unless:
- we are legally obliged to do so. For example, the SVB is obliged to provide the Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) with details of your pension or benefit.
- another organization needs the details in order to implement its tasks under public law. For example, if the organization needs your details in order to check whether you are still entitled to an AIO supplement.
- you have given permission for this.
What details does the SVB hold on you?
You can ask what details we hold on you. We will then send you a letter within 4 weeks informing you what we do with your details, how we obtained them, and with which organizations we exchange details on you. If you have a DigiD code and receive child benefit, Anw survivor benefit, AOW old age pension or a TOG allowance, you can view your details via My SVB. You can also make an appointment with your SVB office to view your file.
If a child under 16 wants information about his or her personal details, the child's legal representative must ask for the information. A legal representative will normally be the child's parent or guardian. We will then give the information to the representative.
