Anw survivor benefit - Claiming an Anw benefit if you live outside the Netherlands

If you live outside the Netherlands, how to claim an Anw survivor benefit depends on where you live.

There are three possibilities:

1. You live in a country of the EU (European Union). You have a choice. You can submit your Anw survivor benefit claim to the social security organization in the country where you live, or in the country where your partner was last insured. We advise you to submit your claim in the country where you live.

2. You live in a country with which the Netherlands has an agreement on social security or in a country of the the EEA (European Economic Area). In that case, you should contact the social security organization where your partner was last insured. They will help you with your claim.

3. You live in a country not referred to above. You should contact us, and we will send you a claim form.
