Anw survivor benefit - Staying insured under the Anw and AOW schemes

If you leave the Netherlands and move to another country, you will stop being insured under the AOW pension scheme. You will then get a lower pension when you turn 65.  

You will also cease to be insured under the Anw survivor benefit scheme. If you have children under 16, they will not be entitled to an orphan's benefit if you die.

To be able to get an Anw benefit or AOW pension or both, you can take out voluntary insurance.
