Questions about My SVB

1. How does My SVB work?
You can log in via My SVB by clicking on 'Log in with DigiD'.
My SVB allows you to report changes, view your details or submit a claim via the internet. In other words, you do not need to use paper forms. You choose what you want to do. You will see a form on your computer screen which will be partially completed with the details that are already known to us. You only have to complete the sections that have not yet been filled in. You can then check the details on the form and send it to us directly. Reporting a change or submitting a claim via the internet is quick, easy and safe. Safety is guaranteed because you use your DigiD code (your own personal username and password from the government).
2. Can I view my details?
My SVB allows you to view current details about your benefit or pension. You log in using your DigiD code, which means you can be sure that you will only see your own details. For example, you can see when you can expect your next payment, or look at details of previous payments (if you receive AOW pension). The information is updated every 24 hours.
My SVB shows a selection of current details. It is not possible to show all information in My SVB. If you need more information, you can make an appointment with the SVB to view your entire file.
3. Will My SVB work on your computer?
You can use My SVB using an internet browser. When accessing My SVB, your browser will use the new PKI government certificate, which is equipped with a new security standard. This will ensure that you can log in to My SVB without any problems.
You can check whether your computer system is suitable via the Logius website, so that you will continue to be able to use DigiD.
Is your computer system suitable?
My SVB is protected by certificates, which prevents information you send to the SVB from being maliciously intercepted.
The new protection system is not compatible with outdated versions of operating systems or internet browsers. If you are using outdated software, you cannot use My SVB.
Web browsers
My SVB works on Windows computers and Apple computers. However, you need to have a recent version of your web browser to have access to My SVB, so set your computer to allow automatic updates.
My SVB works with the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer 8 and 9
- Mozilla Firefox (versions 15 and 16)
- Safari (version 5.0 or higher)
Google Chrome (version 22)
If you use an older version or a different browser, we cannot guarantee that My SVB will work properly.
Uploading files
To upload a document when you submit a claim or make a change to your details, your browser must be JavaScript enabled. This will usually be the case. If not, you should see a message asking you to enable JavaScript.
4. Can I report all changes to the SVB using My SVB?
Using My SVB, you can report changes regarding your:
- Dutch child benefit
- old age pension (AOW pension)
- survivor benefit (Anw benefit)
- TOG care allowance
5. Is it safe to send my details over the internet?
After logging in using your DigiD code, information will be sent via a secured connection. A small lock in the browser window shows that the connection is secured. If you click on the lock, you will see the certificate guaranteeing that the website is the website that you want to visit. This is a unique certificate which cannot be counterfeited.
You can stay logged in for a certain period of time, and you can log out by clicking on ‘Uitloggen’. For the rest, the DigiD code works just like a PIN code: it is your own personal code and you must not divulge it to anyone.
6. How can I see if a change I reported has got through to the SVB?
You will not receive a separate confirmation of receipt by email or post. However, for each change that you submit, you will see an overview on your screen as confirmation of the change. You can print this overview out using the print button that will appear after you have submitted the change.

8. Can I upload documents?

You can only upload documents if:
- the file is smaller than 1 MB
- the file is in jpg, jpeg or pdf format
- you do not send more than 20 files at the same time
- all the files together add up to less than 3.5 MB

10. I cannot submit a child benefit claim online, but I received a letter from the SVB saying that I could.
You see the message: “You cannot yet claim child benefit. The SVB will contact you as soon as you can submit a claim online.”
Possible reasons:
1. You delayed your online claim for too long. After you receive the letter informing you about claiming child benefit online, you have 3 months in which to submit your claim. After that, you have to use the paper claim form..
2. Your partner has already submitted a child benefit claim (on paper or via the internet).
3. You used the wrong DigiD code. Either parent's DigiD code can be used, but not a code belonging to the child or another member of the household.
If neither of the above reasons apply, please contact your SVB office.
11. I cannot claim an AOW pension online, but I received a letter from the SVB stating that I could.
You see the message: “You cannot claim an AOW pension yet. The SVB will contact you as soon as it is possible for you to submit an AOW pension claim online.”
Possible reasons:
- You delayed your online application for too long. After you receive the letter informing you about claiming an AOW pension online, you have 3 months in which to submit your claim. After that, you have to use the paper claim form.
- You entered the wrong DigiD code. You can only submit a claim using your own DigiD, not one that belongs to your partner or anyone else you live with.
If neither of the above reasons apply, please contact your SVB office.
